Decontamination of Military Vehicles
Operation Windfirm
Details
MSS have been operating at MOD Ashchurch for the past two years as part of Operation Windfirm, working side by side with the military to decontaminate over 7000 military vehicles and assets, and 120,000 items of royal engineer bridging.
Key aspects of the project have included:
• Compilation of bespoke risk assessments for each vehicle variant (100's of variants)
• Weekly reporting of outputs/progress to key stakeholder group
• Implementation of critical daily framework tasks to control the spread of asbestos on site
• Assisting in the development of a set of site wide safety systems for all site operations
• Liaison with maintenance contractors to enable site maintenance to continue
• Development and implementation of a bespoke training package for all stakeholders involved in the project
MSS remain on-site carrying out decontamination of several CHE sheds for essential vehicle storage.
