Our CoCa-certified consultants support duty holders in meeting the requirements of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR 2012). Using a structured, evidence-based approach, they analyse existing data, systems and working practices to identify gaps and risks, and provide clear, compliant solutions tailored to each client’s needs.

Asbestos Surveying & Bulk Sampling

We are UKAS accredited for the identification and analysis of asbestos, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and reliability in our testing procedures. Our BOHS-certified surveyors are deployed to client sites to carry out asbestos surveys and provide expert consultancy in line with current legislation and best practice.

In addition, we operate an in-house asbestos bulk analysis laboratory at our headquarters, enabling rapid turnaround of sample results and full quality control from survey through to reporting.

Training

MSS is a UKATA-accredited training provider, offering high-quality asbestos training through our dedicated, fully equipped training facilities. Our courses are delivered by experienced trainers with extensive industry knowledge, ensuring learners receive practical, compliant and up-to-date instruction.

We also design and deliver bespoke training programmes tailored to the specific needs of our clients, ensuring their teams are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to work safely and in line with regulatory requirements.

How to manage asbestos risks now and for the future

Darren Phelan of MSS Consulting explores the ongoing issue of asbestos in school buildings and what can be done to tackle it.

I was appointed as an asbestos co-ordinator in Linc-Cymru last year without any knowledge of asbestos whatsoever. However, Linc paid MSS to provide me with bespoke training and knowledge for me to competent enough to pick up all tasks that came under me on the Asbestos Management Plan. MSS delivered Asbestos awareness, Duty to Manage and 121 training every Tuesday. MSS also provided me with extra training onsite to help me complete my P402 & P405 exams. The team are extremely helpful and always pick up the phone to answer any queries I may have. The Head of Health of safety now considers me an asbestos specialist for Linc and I wouldn’t have gotten this far without the help from MSS.
