MSS were commissioned by RCT Council to undertake a large-scale asbestos removal and soft strip operations within the historic bingo hall in the prominent centre of Pontypridd. MSS were the principal contractor during the enabling works phase, under which all CDM regulations were adhered to. The work involved stripping licensed and non-licensed materials from the building, including removal of the roof in its entirety.
The location of the site was such that access was limited by both public roads and footpaths running all the way around the building, therefore careful planning around security, deliveries (including skips, plant & equipment, welfare facilities, machinery etc) and public safety needed to be in place. Sub- contractors included scaffolders and electrical and gas engineers and hoarding providers. The project was delivered to the specified programme, safely and in-line with budget expectations.
